Jon Pushkin, president of Pushkin Public Relations, is a senior level public relations practitioner with extensive experience in strategic planning, media relations, brand development and marketing communications for healthcare, nonprofit and corporate clients. He is Accredited in Public Relations (APR) by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the immediate past chair of the PRSA Independent Practitioner’s Alliance, and a past president of the Colorado Chapter of PRSA.
Since opening his own firm in 1997, Pushkin has been recognized with several PRSA Gold Pick awards including Small Practice of the Year, National Media Relations, Chapter Service and Community Relations. Pushkin won a 2006 Bronze Peak award from the American Marketing Association for writing and producing the annual publication, Bioscience Colorado.
His successes include Be Stroke Smart, a national media relations campaign for the National Stroke Association including Public Service Announcements featuring former President George Bush, video and print news releases, a satellite media tour and a cover story in USA Today; Checkoff Colorado, a groundbreaking, statewide, collaborative public awareness campaign for the ten charitable funds on Colorado’s tax checkoff program; and Beat the Bug, a public awareness program for the Colorado health department in collaboration with the Denver Nuggets to encourage people to get a flu shot.

Prior to beginning his career in public relations, Jon performed at concerts, folk festivals and workshops across the country as a professional musician and promoted concerts for the legendary Denver Folklore Center.
