PUSHKIN PUBLIC RELATIONS WINS 2003
GOLD PICK AWARD
When Pushkin Public Relations and New Moon Communications teamed
up last year to develop a statewide public awareness campaign
for Checkoff Colorado (a collaboration of ten charitable funds
eligible for donations on the Colorado tax form), they knew they
would have to get creative. The group had no budget and nothing
like this had ever been done before in Colorado or anywhere else
in the country.
Their creativity was rewarded with a 2003 Gold Pick Award from
the Colorado Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America
(PRSA). READ MORE
The annual PRSA awards recognize excellence in public relations.
New Moon Communications handled the graphic design work while
Pushkin PR worked on strategic planning and media relations. About
half of their time was donated pro bono.
The campaign was called Checkoff Colorado - A Simple Way to Give.
It included a PSA for TV and radio featuring Governor Bill Owens,
posters, flyers, outdoor signage, a press conference at the State
Capitol, and significant local and national media coverage.
“Getting the opportunity to work on a groundbreaking campaign
like Checkoff Colorado was an incredibly rewarding experience,”
said Jon Pushkin. “It was a chance to really make a difference
by helping a lot of worthy causes. They were the best client we
could ever hope for.”
