JON PUSHKIN ELECTED CHAIR OF THE PRSA INDEPENDENT PRACTITIONERS ALLIANCE
DENVER – (December 12, 2005) Jon Pushkin was elected the 2007 chair of the PRSA Independent Practitioners Alliance (IPA), a professional interest section of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) that represents more than 200 members across the country.
The IPA provides a virtual gathering place and resources for public relations professionals that run solo practices or virtual agencies that work in teams from home or shared offices.
According to a recent survey commissioned by PRSA, independent practitioners are the fastest growing segment of the profession. They average 20 years of experience and nearly 70 percent provide a full range of PR services to their clients. The majority cited control of their work life and having more time to spend with their family as the major advantages to starting their own business.
“The IPA is a great way to learn from and network with fellow professionals around the country,” said Pushkin. “I am honored to serve as the section chair and to provide a voice for independent practitioners on the relevant issues impacting our profession.”
Jon Pushkin is president of Pushkin Public Relations, a Greenwood Village-based firm he founded in 1997. He is a past president of the Colorado Chapter of PRSA and the co-founder of the Sage Public Relations Group, a virtual agency that provides branding, research and strategic communications programs for clients in the public and private sectors.
