Pushkin named to board of Facing History and Ourselves
Jon Pushkin was named to Advisory Board of the Denver/Rocky Mountain States office of Facing History and Ourselves, a 30-year-old international nonprofit organization that helps teachers engage students of diverse backgrounds in an examination of racism, prejudice, and anti-Semitism to promote the development of a more humane and informed citizenry.
By studying the historical development and lessons of the Holocaust and other examples of genocide, Facing History and Ourselves helps students make the essential connection between history and the choices they confront in their own lives. Through its extensive network of teachers, Facing History reaches more than two million students across the globe, providing resource materials in print and online at www.facinghistory.org.
Facing History believes that students are moral philosophers—able and willing to think about tough moral and ethical dilemmas in surprisingly sophisticated ways. Their approach helps students understand that their choices and actions matter, and that young people can, and should, be agents of change.
