Pushkin Speaks at Denver Conference on Public Engagement
From broadsheets to bloggers, the history of the American press is filled with examples of the media’s power to shape the way the public thinks. Separating propaganda from PR is not always easy, especially when it comes to politics and war. These were some of the themes Jon Pushkin covered in his presentation called “The Power of the Media to Influence Public Opinion” delivered at Regis University’s conference on Public Engagement on October 9 in Denver. The full-day symposium was designed to encourage university students to learn more about the issues, become involved in the political process, and actively support the causes that they feel strongly about.
“It is good to see students paying attention to the news and forming their own opinions,” said Pushkin. “Regis University should be commended for putting together such an important event.”
