A veteran communicator, Erika has put her journalism, public relations and project management skills to work for the past 16 years, crafting messages for a wide spectrum of audiences.
As an independent PR practitioner, Erika has assisted a wide variety of clients with their publicity needs, managing media relations campaigns for nonprofits, financial services firms and high-profile figures, including former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros.
Most recently, she served as chief spokesperson for the Colorado Lottery, where she oversaw crisis communications, public relations planning, product launches and consumer correspondence.
She provides pro-bono support to Sense the World, a local non-profit dedicated to providing eyeglasses, hearing aids and other medical related aids to residents of Third World nations.
Erika served as a staff writer for the Denver Business Journal, Boulder Daily Camera and Rocky Mountain News, where she proved her versatility by earning awards for both economic reporting and feature writing. During her 11-year tenure at the Rocky Mountain News, she covered many beats, including finance, tourism, arts and culture and higher education. She has written for the specialty websites Disaboom.com, Worthpoint.com and EdNewsColorado.org.
Erika holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Colorado Denver's Graduate School of Public Affairs.
